Neuron BioPharma’s main objective is to discover, development  and pre-clinical study of molecules and compounds to prevent or treat several neurodegenerative diseases.
Neuron BioPharma owns a High-Throughtput screening (HTS) to evaluate neuroprotective properties of more than tens of thousands compounds each year, either in in vitro assays or in human cell lines. In parallel, ADME studies are carried out in specifically designed cell models.
Drug pre-clinical development (efficiency and safety) is carried out by using animal model of biomedical interest, such as zebrafish, mouse or rat. These models are used to carry out behavioural phenotyping studies, imaging techniques, biochemical parameter determination, anatomopathological studies and molecular analysis to determine compound efficiency, pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, as well as toxicological profiles. Pre-clinical development ends with Phase I design.
